About

I guess I should say a couple of words about myself and how I ended up becoming involved in the work for flood relief in this remote corner of Nepal. My name is Astrid Hovden and I am currently a PhD fellow at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages at the University of Oslo in Norway. It was during a research stay in Halji this summer that I witnessed the devastating flood. It was terrible to see the villagers losing their homes and fields, and I have to do my best to help them spread awareness about the threat.

If you have any comments or are interested in contributing to the protection of the village and the monastery, please leave a comment or contact me at floodinhumla(at)gmail.com.
